APIS Grants!

For anyone needing assistance to attend APIS, DAABA is proud to offer five grants at $300/piece for a total expenditure of $1,500 per the procedure detailed below. Grants are unavailable for attendees whose expenses are paid for by their employer.  Please submit your grant requests to info@daaba.org and indicate under which Section you are seeking a grant.

o    Committee members and co-chairs seeking a grant under Section 1 of the procedure must submit their requests by Friday, March 22.

o     All general members seeking a grant under Section 2 of the procedure must submit their requests by Tuesday, March 26.

o     If there are still stipends available after Wednesday, March 27, then any members who request after that date, plus any officers and directors, can then be eligible via lottery to be held on Friday, March 29.

DAABA 2019 Procedure for Distribution of APIS Conference and Retreat Grants

Allocation of the grants will be as follows:

Section 1: Three (3) grants will be offered to DAABA’s committee co-chairs and committee members, to be distributed to those individuals who have indicated in writing to the DAABA Secretary at info@daaba.org that they would like to attend the event by a blind, random-pull lottery system of all such individuals. If less individuals indicate an interest in attending than there are remaining grants, then all individuals requesting grants shall be given them automatically. If no such individuals request grants or there are requests for less than the available grants, then all remaining grants shall enter the lottery system under Section 2 below.

Section 2: Two (2) grants and any non-distributed grants from Section 1 above will be offered to DAABA’s members at-large, to be distributed to those individuals who have indicated in writing to the DAABA Secretary info@daaba.org that they would like to attend the event by a blind, random-pull lottery system of all such individuals. If less individuals indicate an interest in attending than there are remaining grants, then all individuals requesting grants shall be given them automatically. If no such individuals request grants or there are requests for less than the available grants, then all remaining grants shall enter the lottery system under Section 3 below.

Section 3: Any non-selected grants from Section 2 will be offered to the officers and directors of DAABA, to be distributed to those individuals who have indicated in writing to the DAABA Secretary at info@daaba.org that they would like to attend the event by a blind, random-pull lottery system of all such individuals. If less individuals indicate an interest in attending than there are remaining grants, then all individuals requesting grants shall be given them automatically.

Upon award of grants, DAABA will reimburse actual expenses of those who have received grants in the lottery system upon a reasonable showing of having paid APIS or other vendors.
